Frequently asked questions
You submit the environmental classification form through the permits and licences platform of the National Center for Environmental Compliance, and the Center decides your category within ten working days according to the expected impact.
The construction permit is valid for three years, and the Center sets the operating permit's term between three and six years.
The Center reviews a Category 2 study within 30 working days, and a full Category 3 study within 60 working days after the scoping report.
If you collect, transport, sort, store, treat or recycle waste, you need a licence from MWAN. If you only produce waste, you must hand it to a licensed service provider.
Category 2 and 3 facilities submit an environmental audit study every three years, linked to renewing the operating permit.
The regulation requires a service provider licensed by the National Center for Environmental Compliance. Green Ways is an environmental consultancy licensed by the Center (environmental licence no. ELESL-2025-000465).
