Frequently asked questions
Questions about this track.
What is the difference between an environmental management plan and an impact assessment?
An environmental management plan is required for Category 1 and describes how the facility manages its impacts. An impact assessment is required for Categories 2 and 3 and assesses the project's expected impacts, alternatives and mitigation before construction.
How long does an impact assessment review take?
The Center reviews a Category 2 study within 30 working days, and a full Category 3 study within 60 working days after the scoping report.
What is a scoping report?
It is the first step for Category 3 projects. It sets the environmental issues the full study will cover before the study is prepared.
Who prepares environmental studies?
The regulation requires a service provider licensed by the National Center for Environmental Compliance. Green Ways is an environmental consultancy licensed by the Center (environmental licence no. ELESL-2025-000465).
